Frigid and Wrap It Up

Today was another cold start at -6 degrees.  It was zero when I took the boys to school, so we might see 6 as the high.  I know it makes for treacherous driving, and terror when you have a new driver in the family who thinks she knows what driving in this stuff is - for the record, she doesn't - but I have to love it.  Everything is frosted and crisp white.  Perfect for this week of decorating and shopping.

If you're under this blanket of snow and arctic air, then you may be snuggled inside - which is perfect for crafting.

Today use the following color pallet found on the Apron Strings Color Theory board:

And combine it with this Christmas card found on Pinterest, and linked to Top Inspired.

The color scheme is definitely a common theme found in holiday papers, so you should find something in your stash that will do the trick; Basic Grey uses those colors in their holiday lines, which have been in a few Apron Strings kits.

The card inspiration could send you looking for felt embellishments, brads in two or three coordinating colors, using embossed cardstock, digging out a stamp set or making your own embellishments.  Make the card itself with your own stash, or create a layout by expanding on the design - make the matted sentiment block cross your page, or pages, as a border.  The embossed cardstock become one or more photos.  The felt tree is grouped with a pal or two and sits off to one side of your photo block.  Simple, cute, and best of all, done!

Get your card, layout or pocket page completed and linked up by Sunday evening to be eligible for the kit that's being given away for this week's work.  Yes. . .a kit!

Happy Thursday,

Here's mine based on the color image although my colors are more muted. I used the MME Mistletoe Magic line. Also inspired by the card to go with a Christmas theme.
